The BEST Sloppy Joe Recipe.

Sloppy Joes are the quintessential all American food that lands on most tables in every household quite often. So many versions exist. I myself have made many versions. I have two other sloppy Joe recipes on my blog including a Chicken and Mushroom Sloppy Joe Recipe.  This Recipe is by far a favorite amongst family and friends. Several people told me they didn’t like Sloppy Joes until they tried this version and they were sold!

THE BEST SLOPPY JOE RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 3 Pounds Lean Ground Beef
  • 2 Cups Chili Sauce
  • 1 (6 oz.) Can Tomato Paste
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey Mustard Dressing
  • 1 Cup Yellow Onions, diced
  • 1 Cup Celery, diced
  • 1 Cup Green Pepper, diced
  • 2 Tablespoons Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar

Directions:

1. In a large frying pan, saute the Onions, Celery and Green Pepper in 1 tablespoon oil, until tender. Transfer the veggies into a 6 or 7 quart slow cooker.

2.  In the same fraying pan, brown the Ground Beef and drain the fat. Transfer the Ground Beef into the slow cooker.

3. Add the Chili Sauce, Tomato Paste, Honey Mustard Dressing, Montreal Steak Seasoning and Brown Sugar to the slow cooker. Fold everything together.

4. Set the slow cooker on low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally. You want the flavors to marry and everything to be nice and hot.

Serve the Sloppy joe mixture on your favorite burger buns. This makes about 16 servings.
