A great Pumpkin Dessert with Cinnamon Whipped Cream.

During the Fall season, Pumpkin is often incorporated in many dishes. This is an easy to make Custard. With the addition of freshly whipped Cream, you have a dessert fitting for Fall!

PUMPKIN CUSTARD WITH CINNAMON WHIPPED CREAM

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup 100% Pure Pumpkin (do not use pumpkin pie mix)
  • 1 (14 oz.) Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 3 Large Eggs
  • 1 & 1/3 Cup Half & Half
  • 1 & 1/2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1/8 Teaspoon Cloves
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 Cup Whipping Cream

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees. Place a medium size glass or metal mixing bowl in the refrigerator which will be used later in this recipe.

2. In a large mixing bowl whisk together the Eggs, Nutmeg, Cloves and 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon.

3. Whisk in the Sweetened Condensed Milk and the Half & Half. Then whisk in the Pumpkin.

4. Ladle the Pumpkin mixture evenly into Six-6 ounce, oven safe custard cups.

5. Heat 2 cups of water to boiling.

6. Set the filled Custard Cups into a 13 x 9 baking dish.

7. Set the pan with the Custard Cups on the top rack in the preheated oven. Now pour the hot water into the bottom of the pan. We are creating a water bath for the custard Cups to bake in. Bake the Custard for 30-35 minutes. All ovens cook differently so check the Custard at the 20 minute mark. Look for the Custard to be set and when a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, the Custard is done. Mine took 30 minutes to bake in my oven.

8. When the Custard is done transfer the Cups to a cooling rack and cool completely.

9. While the Custard is cooling, you can make the Cinnamon Whipped cream. Remove the chilled bowl from the refrigerator. Add the Whipped Cream, Sugar and 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon into the bowl. Using a handheld mixer, beat the Whipped Cream until thick and creamy.

10. After the Custard has cooled, add a dollop of the Cinnamon Whipped Cream on top and you are ready to serve! Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
