Simply delicious!

My neighbors gave me some Apples from their Apple tree, so I decided to make some Apple Sauce. The Apples were extra sweet and juicy. I knew I wasn’t going to need to add any sugar to my Apple Sauce recipe.

If you have an abundance of Apples and Strawberries you might like my Apple Strawberry Applesauce recipe.

This is such a simple and easy recipe to make and your home will have such a wonderful Apple aroma as the Apples cook down. I just love Fall! It is my favorite season. Go out and pick some Apples at your favorite Apple Orchard and try this recipe, your family will love this Apple Sauce. Get extra sweet Apples like Fuji, that way you don’t need to add any extra sugars.

APPLE SAUCE

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 Sweet Apples (fuji is a good choice)
  • 1/3 Cup Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon.
  • Juice from 1 Lemon

Directions:

1. Peel and core the Apples. Then dice them up into small chunks.

2. Transfer the Apples into a medium size saucepan. Squeeze the Lemon over the Apples.

3. Add the Water to the pan.

4. Cook the Apples over medium heat, stirring frequently. Make sure the Water doesn’t all evaporate. If it does, just add a little more. You don’t want the Apples to get dry and possibly scorch on the bottom. Once the Apples begin to get soft and the liquid starts to bubble/boil, turn the heat down to a simmer.

5. Continue to cook until the Juice from the Apples is appearing and the Apples start to break down. Sprinkle in the Cinnamon, then start to mash the Apples with a potato masher. Continue to cook and mash the Apples until they all have softened and you have more of an Apple Sauce consistency.

6. Transfer the Apple Sauce to a blender and pulse just enough to get a smooth consistency.

7. Pour the Apple Sauce into glass jars. Allow the Apple Sauce to cool before placing the lids on the jars. You should get about 2 & 1/2 to 3 Cups of Apple Sauce depending on the size of your Apples.

8. Store the Apple Sauce in your refrigerator. It will last 4-5 days.
